Ice Cream Party and Adoption Update (at least the closest thing to it)

Portia went to her first Ice Cream party.  As soon as she arrived she joined her friends and dressed up like a princess.  Our friend Sarena kindly went out of her way to buy all the different toppings you could possibly imagine.  I was in my element since ice cream is my favorite dessert hands down!  

Okay for some adoption news...we were told today that our agency director visited Reuben's orphanage. When she arrived he was found to be sleeping peacefully. She reported that his tummy was of normal size. We weren't aware that his tummy was enlarged however due to his surgery, it's not a big surprise. This upcoming Monday he will be taken to the clinic for a liver retest so we are hoping to get those results soon. Aside from that, there wasn't much else reported. They said that everything was fine and there was only good news from the orphanage. Unfortunately, the orphanage that Reuben is from is unlike the other orphanages our agency is used to dealing with. They are used to hearing what stage the documents are at (ie. 1st letter, 2nd letter, 3rd letter and then finally the investigation) and how soon their clients will likely travel, but this will not be the case for us. We will likely travel last minute with a 1 (perhaps 2) week notice. For this reason, our agency can not give us any timeframes, especially since they just started working with this orphanage and we are their first clients. Although it is assumed that we have been approved by Vietnam to adopt, the agency says it is not for sure yet and that we should wait at least another couple of weeks before we share our news with our friends & family. This has definitely been a big weight on our shoulders. Of course we want to shout it out to the world, but still feel we'll be setting ourselves up for a greater fall. At this point in time, our agency director is still stating that we will likely travel at the end of May. Have I mentioned how excited I am for next Friday to roll around? At least then I can say, 'perhaps this month'. We left off that we will follow up next Friday to see if there are any results from the liver testing, if there are any new pictures of Reuben and if our agency's contact person received any of our child's documents yet.
