We went to visit the Museum of Vietnamese History. We arrived at 11am, paid and started looking around. At 11:25 we were told to get out, since it was their lunch time. Too funny! We'll have to try again. After that we stopped at the Diamond Plaza and enjoyed a few fine pastries at Tous Les Jour Bakerie. I had a round doughnut with red bean paste in the inside and must admit, I was pleasantly surprised, it actually tasted good. They use red beans alot in many of their desserts. We then hopped in a cab called Vinasum (we thought it was a Vinasun cab). The cab driver drove extra slow and it only took seconds to realize by the cost on the meter that we've been had. It ended up costing us 5 times more than it should have. Good lesson learned. We met up with Renny (and Lia) who insisted that we go to this embroidery shop (ninhkhuong.vn) and am I ever glad that she did. It carried some of the most beautiful cotton I've ever come across. Portia raked in again with more clothes. We got a cute little outfit for our little man...size 3 months. We made a final stop at a Vietnamese quilt and could have gone crazy. We LOVE quilts! Franca set her eyes on a beautiful worked quilt but oddly enough it didn't come in king size. She has the option to order on-line and pay $130 USD to get it couriered or just pay $26 USD but it would take about 4 months to come in my ship. Hmmm. We came home and had a family swim in the pool and enjoyed sitting in the not so hot, hottub.
